Decided it was too long since I’d posted anything DGM related. For a blog post about my life, look one post down.
Anyway, notice that in the manga, Allen’s mask when he invocates Crown Clown has three colours – silver, gold, and black. The gold and black both colour one side of the mask each, I mean, the left side is black, the right side is gold. And the mask is silver beneath all that colour.
We know that silver is representative of innocence, black of akuma, and gold of Noahs. So I wonder why I didn’t realise that earlier when we see Allen’s mask in colour. I think the mask sort of shows what is inside Allen’s body… I think soul is a better word. Possessed by the 14th’s memories, cursed by an akuma, and at the same time is a conformer for innocence. How ironic. The forces at war externally now exist in his body, somewhat living in peace together. It just shows how good and bad can fit together, can tolerate each other, if they make an effort to. I believe that ultimately, Allen won’t be consumed by the 14th’s memories. Somehow, I have no idea how, but the 14th will reach a compromise with the innocence in Allen’s body.
There’s still hope for this war that the exorcists are forced to fight! Maybe Allen will be the one to end the fight once and for all. I get the feeling that he might not be alive at the end of it, though. Him being alive would just tempt the mangaka to continue the manga even when the fight has ended, and that would be inappropriate, cause the conflict in the manga would have been resolved already. Continuing the manga with a new conflict would be superfluous, in my opinion.
There can be another way out. Seeing that innocence is the underlying force, one can always hope that Allen’s innocence will win the fight against the Noah, who might get help from the akuma’s curse (not highly likely, but just my speculation)…
In any case, that was just what I thought about the Noah, the akuma’s curse, and the innocence residing in Allen’s body. Forgive me for my ramblings(:
