Yay! Finally had our clique outing! Let’s see. Liang Wei, Wei Jie, Amanda, Wan Si, Ying Zhi and I went. It was super fun… And we waited half an hour for Wei Jie to meet up with us. So we told him that he was to eat up all the food we couldn’t finish. XD We’re evil. And we had: 14 apples, 1 box of grapes, 6 sets of sandwiches, 5 packets of beehoon, 3 packets of chips, 2 bottles of drinks and 6 wine cups (disposable). Oh, and I brought a marker to write our names on so that we won’t be confused.. Amanda had lots of fun writing all of our names.. Let’s see… Liang Wei is “Liang Wei, sissy☺ (that’s supposed to be a LARGE smiley face!)”. Wan Si is “Silk Bowl + picture of bowl”. Wei Jie is “Wei Jie Smile Always
“. (And he said that the smiley she drew was ugly!) Ying Zhi is “Ying Zhi”, but I can’t remember if there’s anything else added on. Amanda had her name written in caps and all over the cup. Mine was my name and O_O, but the _ part had jagged teeth drawn (and I must say, Amanda likes me a lot to give me the nicest decoration! ^^).
The weather was great! Cloudy… A little bit of sun… No rain. An excellent day for a picnic! I think it was all our praying that the weather was so nice today! Good thing too. I thought it would rain. If it were sunny, I didn’t bring sunblock (which means that I would be getting sunburnt).
We had 3 rounds of picnic. First one at Swan Lake (where we saw a few swan structures and two white swans), where we discovered that Amanda had brought a mat that was meant for a person to lie on it and we ended up putting all the food on the mat while we sat on the plastic bags.. Quite hilarious. We played frisbee and saw people having a photoshoot, took lots of photos, and of course, ate some of our food. We ended up reciting poems!! And making lots of funny mistakes too, while Ying Zhi wowed us by reciting the 三字经. XD And cause the grass and my slippers were slippery, I slipped and did a split while trying to catch the frisbee… I don’t think anyone got it on the camera, though. (There were 3 cameras today! Amanda’s SLR, Wei Jie’s Cybershot and mine.) Phew. That would have been embarassing. XD After we kept hitting the neighbouring picnickers, we decided to change our location to Symphony Lake, while eating our grapes (that Wei Jie put in the wine cups) on the way. We were walking for quite long before we finally reached there, and sat there for a while admiring the lotus flowers that were not eaten and entertained ourselves while trying not to disturb a couple having their romantic getaway. =D Oh, and there was a very nice Japanese tourist who offered to take a group photo for us! We nearly thanked him in Japanese but we thought we would probably scare him away. And Wan Si got quite excited, jumping and jumping, saying that they were Japanese (and were so nice).
The second location was at the Eco-Garden. It was on the other side of the place we were in! So we walked and walked for a longer time, while Wei Jie took us in a round-about manner until we were complaining that he shouldn’t lead the way – he still led the way in the end anyway, cause he had the map. XD
We took out the mat again and laid our stuff down right beside the Eco Lake. There were two BLACK swans there and we took lots of photos of them. I’ll post them up tomorrow or something. Liang Wei was saying that the Eco Lake should be the Swan Lake and all that. Haha. Then Ying Zhi had the idea of playing frisbee to attract the dogs’ attention (with their owners!) and Wei Jie went to play too. Then the frisbee was thrown too hard and flew right into the lake! While Wei Jie just sat there and stoned. XD Until we were all there and wondering how the hell to get the frisbee. In the end, a little girl offered us a branch that helped us get the frisbee back. =D The pigeons there were all too skinny and unfed, except for one that was so fat and tried to court a female! OMG, it was so funny. We just sat there and laughed… Didn’t get too much eating done. Packed up and left after a while.
Tried to go to some children’s park to play but they didn’t allow admission to us cause we were over 12 years old. T.T So we went to the toilets to clean our cups and the basins were super short except for one (there’s 3 basins).
Walked out of Botanical Gardens after that. We were wondering where we were when we saw the NUS sign. >.> And when we walked out of there, we realised that we were near to our school (Ghim Moh)! XD And laughed at Wei Jie who came to meet up with us from school and now we were back there again! (In fact, we went all the way from the entrance of the Gardens to the other end! >.> *legs aching*) Debated for a while where to go to next and decided to go to Dhoby Ghaut to watch movie (Bolt 3D/Twilight). When we finally reached there, we found out that the nearest screening was Twilight, but of all the luck, the tickets were all sold out for the 5pm slot. !@$%@£ But Bolt 3D had bad seats (by the time we got there) so we changed our minds at the last minute to watch The Day the Earth Stood Still. Wan Si was saying that we were so spontaneous today, cause we came to watch movie right after our picnic without even having made plans to do that! XD And changing the movie to watch immediately when the circumstances were not to our advantage (the seats…).
Though the movie was really rather good, except for the abrupt ending. Like the alien stopped the destruction and poof! The alien went back to its planet. End of story. We didn’t even know if the humans did change and stopped killing the Earth. I’ve got to say, the message was crystal-clear. Obviously, if we weren’t going to stop killing the Earth, the circumstances would be dire.
Then Wan Si and I took out our jackets and wore them. Amanda was asking us why the heck did we bring jackets to a picnic for. XD I told her my mom made me bring one with a hood in case it rained. Then she asked why I didn’t bring a waterproof one. The fact is, I don’t have a waterproof jacket! XD Unless any kind souls want to give me one for my birthday or Christmas, which is so near. Speaking of Christmas, my mom doesn’t allow me to go to my squad’s Christmas party! T.T
Our dinner was just fingerfood. Went all the way to Plaza Singapura to buy it. -_- And we sat outside the mall eating our dinner (Wei Jie had ice-cream, so he finished his by the time we got our food), while Amanda proclaimed it ROUND THREE (of our picnic)! Oh, I had cheese sausage and mashed potatoes, since everyone ordered something different. In fact, we ordered the entire menu among the 6 of us. Cool, right! So we got to eat everything. ^^ It’s great going out in a group. Wei Jie went to 7-Eleven to buy kimchi cup noodles (as predicted correctly by Amanda!) and Slurpee. When he came back, we’d finished our food and were waiting for him to finish his! XD So we took a look at the pictures on Amanda’s SLR (gahh) and laughed our way through. They were really funny!! Amanda told me that she’ll send me pictures with me inside (there were 200+ photos!) and if I wanted to, I could have the pictures of her too. HAHA!!!
After that, we went home (cause we wanted to catch The Little Nyonya) and there wasn’t much to talk about. It got kind of sad when Ying Zhi and Wan Si went their separate ways and there was only 4 of us left.. T.T Wei Jie slept his way through while Amanda, Liang Wei and I talked non-stop. Until Amanda and Liang Wei got off, that is. I went to sit beside Wei Jie and slept too. XD
Anyway, nothing more to talk about. Just reached home and watched my TV… And I’m still watching, so here’s goodbye for now until I upload the pictures over here and on facebook!
